Megan Herbert

Artist Statement
As an artist, I am deeply fascinated by the intersection of technology and creativity, particularly in the realm of animation. My passion lies in the technical intricacies of the craft, and I find myself drawn to the meticulous process of manipulating nodes within software like Toon Boom to bring characters and stories to life.
In my digital art and oil paintings, I strive to explore the diverse possibilities of expression afforded by these mediums. When creating 2D artwork, I immerse myself in the minutiae of detail, meticulously crafting lighting and incorporating elements of secondary animation to evoke a sense of depth and immersion for the viewer.
In my oil paintings, I venture into conceptual exploration, delving into themes that resonate deeply with the human experience. Currently, I am engaged in a series that confronts the enigmatic nature of death, probing its significance through the lens of art.
